JK Performing Arts – Terms and Conditions

By enrolling your child at JK Performing Arts (JKPA), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read these carefully before completing registration.

1. Enrolment and Class Commitment

Enrolment at JK Performing Arts is for a full academic term, as outlined by our published term dates and class schedule.
Class fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of JK Performing Arts management.
Regular attendance is expected to ensure students receive consistent training and can participate fully in group work, routines and performance preparation.
If your child is unable to attend a class, please notify JK Performing Arts where possible.
Missed classes due to a student's absence cannot normally be refunded or credited.

2. Annual Performances

JK Performing Arts stages two full-scale productions each year, which all students are encouraged to participate in.
While participation in productions is not compulsory, performances are an important and valuable part of our students' training, development and experience at JK Performing Arts.
If your child will not be participating in a production, parents/carers must notify JK Performing Arts in writing by the deadline specified for that particular show.
Students taking part in productions are expected to demonstrate commitment to their classes, rehearsals and performance material.

3. Rehearsal and Show Fees

Students participating in productions may be required to attend whole-school rehearsals and additional rehearsals outside their normal weekly class times.
Additional rehearsals may incur a separate rehearsal fee, which will be communicated to parents/carers in advance.
A Show Day Fee may also apply to help cover staffing, venue and production-related costs.
All applicable rehearsal and show fees must be paid in full by the stated deadlines for your child to participate in the production.
Details of rehearsals, show days, timings and fees will be communicated in advance wherever possible.

4. Costumes

Students participating in productions are responsible for purchasing/providing their own costumes, unless otherwise stated.
Costumes must match the specifications provided by the JK Performing Arts teaching team, including requirements relating to colour, style, footwear and accessories, to ensure a professional and unified stage presentation.
Costume information and purchase details will be communicated in advance wherever possible.
Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring that their child's required costume is ready by the specified deadline.

5. Communication and Notices

Important information, including term dates, rehearsals, performances, costume requirements, timetable changes and payment deadlines, will be communicated via email and/or our official communication platform.
It is the responsibility of the parent/carer to ensure that the contact information provided to JK Performing Arts remains up to date.
Parents/carers are responsible for regularly checking communications from JK Performing Arts and responding where required.
Where a response, payment, form or confirmation is requested by a particular deadline, parents/carers are asked to ensure this is completed promptly.

6. Behaviour and Attendance

Students are expected to behave respectfully towards teachers, staff, volunteers and fellow students.
Students are expected to participate positively in classes and rehearsals and show consideration and support towards other members of JK Performing Arts.
Regular attendance is particularly important when students are preparing group pieces or production material.
Repeated inappropriate behaviour, disruptive conduct or excessive absence may result in a student being excluded from a particular performance, activity or, where necessary, classes.
Where a student is excluded due to behaviour, conduct or persistent non-attendance, fees will not normally be refunded.

7. Media Consent

JK Performing Arts may take photographs and/or video footage during classes, rehearsals, workshops, performances and other JKPA activities for marketing, publicity, promotional and educational purposes.
This may include use on the JK Performing Arts website, social media channels, printed promotional materials and other JKPA communications.
By enrolling your child, you give permission for JK Performing Arts to use appropriate photographs and video footage of your child for these purposes unless you notify us in writing that you do not give consent.
Parents/carers may withdraw media consent by contacting JK Performing Arts in writing.

8. Unforeseen Circumstances – All JK Performing Arts Classes and Activities

In the event that any JK Performing Arts class, rehearsal, workshop, performance-related activity or other session needs to be cancelled or postponed, or JK Performing Arts is required to close, due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our reasonable control, JK Performing Arts cannot be held liable for refunds or compensation for missed sessions.
This applies to all classes and activities provided by JK Performing Arts, including Acting, Musical Theatre, Dance, LAMDA, Screen/TV Acting, Just Kidz Club, rehearsals, workshops and any additional sessions or activities.
Unforeseen circumstances may include, but are not limited to, extreme weather conditions, heatwaves, power outages, venue closures, travel disruption, emergencies or other circumstances that may affect the safety or wellbeing of our students and staff.
Where reasonably possible, JK Performing Arts will always endeavour to rearrange a cancelled session, offer an alternative session or provide appropriate make-up time. However, this cannot always be guaranteed.
Parents/carers acknowledge that circumstances outside the reasonable control of JK Performing Arts may occasionally result in changes, postponements or cancellations.
The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and families will always be our priority when making decisions regarding closures or cancellations.

9. Changes to Classes, Staff and Productions

JK Performing Arts reserves the right to make reasonable changes to class timetables, class locations, teaching staff, rehearsal schedules, productions and other activities where necessary.
Where possible, parents/carers will be given reasonable notice of significant changes.
On occasion, a substitute teacher may be used to ensure that a scheduled class can continue.

10. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

JK Performing Arts reserves the right to review and update these Terms and Conditions periodically.
Any significant changes will be communicated to parents/carers where appropriate.
Continued enrolment with JK Performing Arts following an update will constitute acceptance of the current Terms and Conditions.

Declaration

By enrolling your child at JK Performing Arts, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

You also confirm that the information provided during registration is accurate and that you will inform JK Performing Arts of any relevant changes during your child's enrolment.
